Who's at the door?
The Ring Chime is an optional accessory for Ring Video Doorbells that sounds when someone rings the bell, ideal for those moments you don't have your smartphone handy. Configure the Chime directly through the Ring app: adjust volume, turn on "do not disturb" mode, or assign a custom ringtone. The Ring Chime comes with over a dozen custom ringtones, and Ring is constantly adding more. Visit ring.com/chime to hear a sample of all the available ringtones.
Good to know
The Ring Chime plugs into a standard wall socket. You don't need to worry about choosing the correct plug type for your country; it includes three interchangeable plugs for the UK, EU, and US. You can connect multiple Ring Chimes to your Ring Doorbell - for example, one in the house and one in the garage. A Ring Chime is not required to use your Ring Video Doorbell; you can always connect it to an existing doorbell chime or rely on the app.
Ring Chime vs. Ring Chime Pro
Wondering whether the Ring Chime or Ring Chime Pro is right for you? The devices have all the same capability, with one important difference: the Chime Pro extends your WiFi signal to your other Ring devices. If you already have a strong WiFi signal at your front door and camera locations, the Ring Chime will do the trick. If your other Ring devices are struggling to maintain a reliable WiFi connection, the Chime Pro is a good idea. Keep in mind that no WiFi extender can work miracles - certain areas (for example, a brick garage with a metal door) will do better with a wired access point. Another minor difference is the size and look - the Chime Pro has a slightly smaller body with two antennas. Both the Chime and Chime Pro come with interchangeable wall plug adapters for the UK, US, and EU; but the Chime Pro includes an additional adapter for AU sockets.
